Police stopped Bieber on Thursday, January 23 at 4:09 AM after he was witnessed driving at excessive speeds. A Miami police officer recorded Bieber and his friend, singer Khalil, racing in two rented Lamborghinis. Both Bieber and Khalil were driving at speeds of 55 – 60 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone.

Upon stopping Bieber, the officer reported a strong smell of alcohol emanating from Bieber’s vehicle. The officer also noted Bieber’s bloodshot eyes and general stupor. When asked to step out of his vehicle, Bieber grew aggressive toward the officer, but eventually compiled. After Bieber made a move to retrieve something from his pocket, the officer asked him to place his hands on the vehicle so that he could perform a cursory weapons check. At this request, Bieber grew more aggressive, refusing to comply with the officer. At this point, the officer placed him under arrest.

Once at the station, police gave Bieber a field sobriety test, which he failed. They also discovered that Bieber’s license was expired.Bieber later admitted to drinking, smoking pot, and taking prescription medication before getting behind the wheel.
