Actor John Stamos Arrested for DUI

Have mercy, Uncle Jesse! John Stamos, the beloved Full House star and producer of its upcoming Netflix reboot, “Fuller House,” was arrested on a DUI citation late last Friday night.

A DUI Arrest

The former Dr. Tony Gates was pulled over after Beverly Hills police received numerous calls about a suspected drunk driver. However, prior to his arrest he was taken by paramedics to an area hospital when the officer thought the actor may have been suffering from a medical condition. And while fans are thankful that it was a false alarm, to their dismay and disappointment, Stamos was allegedly driving intoxicated.

Though he didn’t address the DUI citation, Stamos quickly broke his silence on Saturday afternoon tweeting, “Thanks to everyone for their love & support. I’m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars [Sinai Medical Center] for their care.”

He is set to appear in court on September 11, 2015.

Signs of Struggle

According to an anonymous “pal” speaking to People Magazine, the busy actor and part-time Beach Boy has been having difficulties coping with the death of his mother last September. Another friend reported that Stamos “did his best to stay strong, but he absolutely fell apart” after Loretta Stamos’s passing.

The first anonymous pal has noted a change in 51-year-old Stamos in the past two years, according to the magazine, but remains hopeful that this was just a one-time mistake and isn’t a warning of a more serious problem looming on the horizon.

Over the years, Stamos has been very active with charities, supporting organizations such as GLAAD and the Special Olympics in various capacities.
